Boseong Green Tea Plantation

There is a fun and exciting festival in Korea this May, actually this is an annual festival every May. This year it's going to be hold at 1-5 May 2010 in Boseong green tea plantation, Jeollanam-do, South Korea. The exact venue is : Green Tea fields, Jeollanam-do Boseong-gun Boseong-eup

I found this quite interesting because I love eco touring and this is considered one. I love fresh air and the beautiful scenery. The Boseong green tea plantation is definitely has a gorgeous scenery. The name Boseong according to wikipedia, was given during the Unified Silla.

Boseong is just an hour and about 20 minutes drive from the metropolitan city of Gwangju, and if you travel from Seoul, it's about six hours. The green tea plantation is so beautiful and neat. The best time to visit is around May and June.

The landscape is amazing. You may feel relax and comfortable when you enjoy the beautiful cedar trees at the entrance of the plantation. The shape of the tea bushes that rising in regular curves are great.

Historically, Boseong is best known for its high quality of tea product. Boseong has mild temperatures and low humidity. So, the green tea plantation is really the best here.

The Boseong Green Tea Festival is one of the most festival event in South Korea. The festival include the activity of picking tea leaves, making tea, and try some snacks made from green tea. Tourists may experience tea exhibition and tea sale. Also some celebratory performances are going to perform during the festival.

Boseong Light Festival

How to get there :

Tourists can choose between two main routes from Seoul to Boseong. By train and by bus. Of course you may drive your own.

By train and bus, take the KTX from Seoul to Gwangju about 3 hours. Once in Gwangju, go to the Gwangju Bus Terminal and take an intercity bus headed for Boseong, about 1 hour and 40 minutes.

After you arrive at Boseong Bus Terminal, take a bus headed for the Green Tea Plantation and Yulpo about 10-15 minutes ride.

There is also an express bus from Seoul Express Bus Terminal that is headed to Boseong. about 5 hour drive.

If you like green tea and fresh air, you may visit there someday. It's really a satisfying place and you may take your family there.

This green tea plantation is also become many Korean dramas location, also the filming locations of commercials. There are many gorgeous spots to visit, like :

The green tea fields are the most gorgeous and the tea trees blanket the landscape like a soft green carpet, creating some of the most picturesque views. Like in Korean "Summer Scent" drama. 

Also don't forget the cedar trees line, the perfect lines of 20-meter high cedar trees that already has a romantic setting.
